A number of positions on the Western Australian Aboriginal Advisory Council (WAAAC) will become vacant in August 2012 and the State Government is now seeking applications from knowledgeable Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people from WA to fill those vacancies.

The WAAAC is a peak statutory body that provides expert advice to the State Government on a range of strategic policies and initiatives affecting the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Western Australia. The WAAAC is committed to advancing the economic social and cultural well being of all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

WAAAC Members are from a diverse range of professional and personal backgrounds. Selection of the Council members will consider cultural and geographical diversity, gender and generational perspectives. Appointment to the Council will be for a term of three (3) years.
