Do you have a passion for Indigenous art and craft?

Aurukun Shire Council currently has a vacancy for an Arts Centre Coordinator at thier Wik & Kugu Arts Centre.

The role requires distinctive vision, excellent communication and management skills including a well defined knowledge of Indigenous arts, crafts and culture.

Key duties include (but are not limited to):
- Day to day support to the artists in residence as well as the wider community
- Establishment & maintenance of programs within the parameters of the organisation
- Develop protocols to ensure the art centre works in a coordinated and integrated manner
- Ability to prepare reports as required; maintain budget control
- Assist Council in the development of the new Arts Centre building (underway in the latter part of 2012)
- Maintain Aurukun's reputation as a major contributor in the fine arts area
- Demonstrated marketing skills to ensure ongoing promotion of Aurukun arts and crafts on an Australian and International basis
- Assist Council's grants officer to source funding for the Arts Centre and the community artists.
