Key Dates:

12 October (Exhibition closes)

Venue: John Curtin Gallery

Aboriginal Art Centre Hub member Spinifex Arts Project are currently celebrating their 15'th anniversary with an exhibition at John Curtin Gallery.

The Spinifex Arts Project was established in 1997 as part of the Spinifex Native Title documentation process. As part of the claim, the Spinifex Arts Project produced two large paintings outlining the Spinifex People's birth places, areas of cultural significance and their connection to Country. Now, more than 10 years later, the Spinifex Arts Project has established a footing as one of the Western Desert's most productive arts initiatives.

Spinifex: People of the Sun and Shadow showcases those two paintings submitted as part of the Spinifex People's claim, along with an array of other important works that celebrate the ongoing connection that Spinifex People have with their traditional lands.

The exhibition closes 12 October.
