Artsource in Partnership with Constantine Family Foundation Present Emerging Artists Program

Tuesday, 30 April 2013

Artsource has announced their new Emerging Artists Program, supported by the Constantine Family Foundation.

The Emerging Artists Program encourages emerging visual artists to take the next step in their career.  This might be through undertaking some form of developmental activity that will assist in the journey or by taking a risk on a new venture, project or path.

A number of grants are on offer of either $5000 or $10,000 each. Projects can be undertaken from July to December 2013.  Artsource are interested to look at all proposals.   There is no requirement that you produce a finished product - this assistance is designed to help you on your way.  Applicants will need to meet eligibility criteria and complete the application form.

While this is not a finite list, these are some potential projects that may be considered:

  • Assistance to work with a senior artist on a mentoring basis to acquire a specific skill or acquire or develop new skills;
  • Assistance to engage a curator to mentor the development on an exhibition opportunity (you are not required to complete the exhibition during the project time);
  • Assistance to engage a writer to contribute to a catalogue or other publication (either print or web based) to promote a body of work;
  • Assistance to document your work professionally for future promotion of your practise;
  • Support to attend an educational or professional developmental or ARI opportunity;
  • Support for a short term industrial or studio space to complete a large scale project or to begin or continue a body of work.

An application for this program includes:

  • A completed application form and project outline addressing the selection criteria;
  • 10 images in relevant format, sent via (free service);
  • Current Curriculum Vitae.

Please contact Lisa Green, Membership Services Manager on 9335 8366 or if you wish to discuss your eligibility to apply for this opportunity.
