Dreaming Award Closes this Month

This award supports a young Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander artist aged 18–26 years to create a major body of work through mentoring and partnerships, either nationally or internationally.

 

The successful candidate is mentored in his/her chosen discipline (music, dance, theatre, literature, visual art, new media, cultural vibrancy) by another established professional artist or by an arts institution nominated by the artist. In addition, the Australia Council will promote the achievements of the recipient and position him/her within the arts as a person with leadership qualities, to inspire other young artists.
Example: 'To create a major body of work through partnerships and/or mentorship' from the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Arts Dreaming Award (2011 Dreaming Award applicant).
