CALL FOR - Emerging Aboriginal Artists and Arts Workers

Revealed 2015 would like to hear from WA emerging Aboriginal artists and trainee Aboriginal arts workers about participation in the biennial Revealed project.

The focus of Revealed is to connect WA's emerging Aboriginal artists and arts workers with a wide range of commercial, artistic and professional opportunities, and to enhance the recognition for the creative energy and cultural diversity of the next generation of artists.

1. Pre-selection Process for Artists:
- Who is considered to be an 'Emerging' artist? Some of the following characteristics should apply to an emerging artist:

  • Been producing art for less than five years.
  • Not have had a solo show or other significant commercial exhibitions.
  • Not have won major prizes or awards.
  • Not be represented by a commercial gallery or dealer.

- Artists working in any medium, including digital works (video, photography etc) are eligible, and both for-sale and not-for-sale works are eligible to enter. 
- Sample images of actual, similar or previous works by the proposed artist/s must be received by 28 November 2014 to be considered in the selection meeting. Emailed images, with basic artwork details (title/size/medium/year) are required plus a bio or CV.

2. Pre-selection for Trainee Arts Workers (paid):
- Write to us and tell us about yourself, where are you from, where do you live, what is your training or experience (a bio or a CV), who can recommend you and why do you want to do it. Plus add your referee details and your contact details.
- Successful Trainee Arts Worker candidates need to show in their letter that they:

  • Have some experience in being an arts worker, or show us your great potential.
  • Have a referee that can recommend you.
  • Can spend time in Perth & be available especially 7-18 April 2015 (school holidays).
  • Have done some training in arts or arts admin, curating, facilitating, etc.
  • Are reliable and committed to learning and working in a group.
