The Cairns Regional Gallery is seeking a Senior Curator to manage, research, develop and implement the Gallery’s exhibition and collection development programs. $75,000- $85,000 per annum + 9.5% superannuation Full Time, Fixed Term for 2 years.

The Cairns Regional Gallery is one of Queensland's largest regional galleries and is a not for profit independent company managed by a Board of Directors. Located in one of Australia's most visited tourist destinations the Gallery's aim is to offer domestic and international visitors a high quality cultural experience and to contribute significantly to Australian art scholarship in relation to the region and its place within the world's tropical zone.

This is a newly created position working closely with the Director to develop an ambitious program of Gallery curated exhibitions and national and international partnerships. The successful candidate will have extensive curatorial experience in major exhibitions, publications, collection development and audience engagement programs in a public gallery. They will actively engage with current ideas and practices across historical and contemporary art and will have an understanding of the region's cultural heritage within the context of Australian and international art.
