Wednesday, 16 August 2017

Key Dates:

Applications close: Monday 16 October 2017

The AACHWA Board of Directors is currently seeking a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). We require a leader with outstanding communications skills to build stakeholder relations and drive our strategic priorities forward.

The Aboriginal Art Centre Hub WA (AACHWA) is the peak body for
Aboriginal art centres in Western Australia. AACHWA promotes the
value of Aboriginal art centres to a broad range of stakeholders
and advances the skills of organisations and individuals across the
Aboriginal visual arts sector.

AACHWA supports the development and growth of art centres by
providing experience and expertise and upskilling art centre staff
and artists across marketing, fundraising, governance, community
relations, reporting and business skills development. AACHWA
services respond to the challenges facing art centres as they build
the artistic and economic potential of their respective
communities.

The successful candidate will meet the following essential
criteria:

  • Skills and experience in successful network development,
lobbying and advocacy at all levels of government, business and in
the community and the capacity to effectively represent and promote
    an organisation and its vision.
  • Clear strategic thinking, planning and organisational
    leadership skills.
  • A successful track record in identifying, securing and
    acquitting grants and financial resources.
  • Ability to lead and manage the governance, administration, and
services of a not-for-profit charitable organisation.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait
Islander societies and cultures and the issues affecting Indigenous
    people in contemporary Australian society.

In addition to these criteria, Aboriginality will be highly
regarded but is not an essential criterion.
