The City of Rockingham is seeking Expressions of Interest for the role of Curator for the 2017 City of Rockingham Art Awards.

The City of Rockingham Art Awards is a multi-disciplinary
art award which will be exhibited in May 2017.  It is
anticipated that the curatorial role will involve consultation and
administrative tasks during the period 4 September 2016 to 30 June

The Awards consist of the following categories:

  • Open Award: for all artworks by established
  • Emerging Award: for artworks by artists who have
    practiced their art continuously for less than five years, and have
    not staged a solo exhibition
  • Heritage Award: for artworks with a focus on the history
    and/or heritage of the Rockingham region
  • Indigenous Award: for artworks from Indigenous
  • Local Residents Award: for an artist residing within the
    City of Rockingham
  • Youth Award:  Artworks by youth 12-18 years of

Expressions must be accompanied by a supporting document
of no more than 1 page, detailing applicant’s experience in the
following areas:

  1. Experience in exhibition curation
  2. Artist development
  3. Media profile and contacts
  4. Arts industry profile and potential to attract credible
    artists to the exhibition
