Travel & accommodation offers
For registrations prior to mid-September 2025
As part of Our Business 2025, we’re offering travel subsidies and limited free accommodation (for AACHWA members-only), plus a significant accommodation discount available for all guests who register by the September deadline.
Our Business runs from Thursday 30 October to Sunday 2 November 2025 in Kariyarra Country, Port Hedland, and is presented in association with our member art centre Spinifex Hill Studio.
Accommodation discount
Port Hedland is a busy mining town where local accommodation can be costly and often books out months in advance.
- We’ve partnered with Gateway Village to offer a community rate of $150/night/per person (for a minimum of 5 nights) to all forum guests.
- Gateway is conveniently located near our forum venues – just a short walk or 2 mins drive to Spinifex Hill Studio and 4 mins drive to North Regional TAFE – Pundulmurra.
- Meals are included in the accommodation.
Important
Please note this offer is limited and you must register by the deadline to access it. Late registrations may mean members miss out on subsidies and/or community rate discounts.
We cannot guarantee that accommodation will be available beyond the deadlines.
Travel & accommodation subsidy (AACHWA Members)
AACHWA offers travel and accommodation subsidies for its member art centres.
The subsidies and discounted accommodation outlined below can be booked during the registration process for Our Business Forum via Humanitix.
Registration deadline
Members must register by 5pm AWST, Monday 8 September 2025 to be guaranteed the travel and accommodation subsidy and to access the community rate for accommodation.
Travel subsidy
We provide support based on the distance (in kilometres) from your art centre to the Forum’s location in Port Hedland as per table below.

Disclaimers
Please note, all art centres are responsible for booking and managing their own travel arrangements (for example, by plane, car etc.).
AACHWA will be chartering a small plane, which will provide limited transport to and from the Desert region. Any art centres invited to travel on the charter plane will not be eligible for a travel subsidy.
Travel subsidy payments
- You will need to book and pay for your travel upfront and will receive your subsidy payment following Our Business 2025.
- If you have been allocated a subsidy, you will need to invoice AACHWA for the agreed subsidy amount after Monday 3 November 2025 (following your attendance at Our Business 2025).
- Please note, all invoices must be received no later than Monday 1 December 2025.
Accommodation subsidy
All AACHWA member art centres are eligible for free accommodation for 2 guests for the duration of the forum (checking in Wednesday 29 October and checking out on Monday 3 November 2025).
This will be in the form of 2 single rooms at Gateway Village.
AACHWA will book these on your behalf, if requested (when registering for the forum) by the deadline.
Additional accommodation
Any members requiring additional accommodation can access the community rate of $150/night/per person (for a minimum of 5 nights ~ $750 total).
You can confirm the number of additional rooms you’ll need when registering for Our Business.

Accommodation payments
AACHWA will invoice your art centre for any additional rooms (above the 2 free single rooms provided).
How to book your member subsidy & additional accommodation
- Register for Our Business 2025 via Humanitix by 5pm AWST, Monday 8 September 2025.
- We understand that it’s not always possible to know exactly who will be attending the event at the time of registration.
- You’ll be able to update the names of guests up until 3 days before the forum, if needed.
- Tick: ‘I would like to request the AACHWA member travel subsidy’ while completing your registration.
- Tick: ‘I would like to request 1 or 2 x single rooms as part of the AACHWA member accommodation subsidy’. You can confirm the number of rooms you require when registering.
- Tick (Optional): ‘I would like to request that AACHWA book [X] additional rooms on behalf of my art centre’.
- Pay AACHWA’s invoice for additional accommodation costs by 17 October 2025.

To qualify for the travel and accommodation subsidy, you must:
- Be an AACHWA member. Check if you are a current member.
- Register for Our Business 2025 by 5pm AWST, Monday 8 September 2025
- Attend Our Business 2025 (Thursday 30 October to Sunday 2 November 2025)
Accommodation discount (non-members)
Thanks to our accommodation partners at Gateway Village, all forum guests can access the heavily reduced community rate of $150/night/per person (for a minimum of 5 nights ~ $750 total).
AACHWA will manage the accommodation booking and invoice you for the cost. If you’d like to book a room at the community rate, please confirm the number of rooms you’ll need when registering for Our Business.
Registration deadline
Non-members must register for Our Business by 5pm AWST, Friday 26 September 2025 to be guaranteed the community rate.
How to book your accommodation discount
- Register for Our Business 2025 via Humanitix by 5pm AWST, Friday 26 September 2025.
- We understand that it’s not always possible to know exactly who will be attending the event at the time of registration.
- You’ll be able to update the names of guests up until 3 days before the forum, if needed.
- Tick: ‘I would like to request that AACHWA book [X] additional rooms on my behalf’.
- Pay AACHWA’s invoice for accommodation costs by 17 October 2025.
