Our Future
Aboriginal Arts Worker Training Program
The Our Future: Aboriginal Arts Worker Training Program provides accredited practical training and real-world experience to Aboriginal arts workers in regional and remote Western Australia.
This training program is delivered in partnership with North Metropolitan TAFE and North Regional TAFE and supports emerging arts professionals to develop their knowledge and skills across a broad spectrum of arts and cultural specialisations.
Delivered in two parts, the program consists of a combination of written coursework, practical training and industry-based learning through TAFE, working towards a Certificate II in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Cultural Arts.
Selected arts workers also have the opportunity to visit and learn from Perth’s major arts and cultural institutions, as well as a regional WA Aboriginal art centre. Frequent collaborators include Martumili Artists, the Western Australian Museum and Art Gallery of Western Australia.
